Ian Sanderson
Ian Sanderson

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Ian launched Sanderson Ltd as a business in 1999 using all the knowledge and skills that he gained over the course of the previous 18 years in the industry. Ian’s aim was to create a proactive company where he would remain hands-on and work to inspire his team to continue to deliver great construction, fit out and refurbishment projects for all clients.

Today, Ian still remains at the forefront of the company, developing proactive strategies for growth and maintaining Sanderson’s ethos, culture and competitive advantage. Ian became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Builders, earning him an FCIOB in 2017.

He is the driver for continuous change within the business, firmly believing that robust company health and safety systems, along with good communication, training and commitment from Directors and managers, makes Sanderson Ltd the construction partner of choice for any client.

Andrew Kneeshaw
Andrew Kneeshaw

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, having started his career as a Quantity Surveyor in Middlesbrough in 1989. Andrew joined Sanderson in 2003 where he manages the estimating, surveying and buying teams.

Andrew plays a vital role in the Sanderson team, liaising with customers, maintaining key relationships, negotiating with suppliers and preparing for tenders. Andrew has also implemented the new document management system to ensure smooth operations and communications from site to head office.

As a director, he takes an active interest in company policy and keeping abreast of current legislation and trends in the industry, as well as trying to forge new relationships and opportunities.

David Robinson Jnr
David Robinson

CONSTRUCTION DIRECTOR

David has been with Sanderson Ltd since its launch in 1999 – firstly as a construction coordinator and buyer, before becoming Contracts Manager, Operations Director and in 2014, promoted to Construction Director which is his current role in the organization.

Throughout David’s tenure he has undertaken university education, off site and onsite key skills training which have provided professional qualifications and industry recognised standards that have enabled him to develop and implement the company’s process and systems.

David’s experience has successfully helped to deliver schemes focusing on safety, cost, time and quality delivery and he is passionate about representing the company with a “hands on” site approach where all projects are run efficiently, ensuring an optimum service level for all clients. David is also a full member of the CIOB working.

James Mason
James Mason

FINANCE DIRECTOR

James has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, having started his career in timber importing. He then moved on to join an upholstery company, working as Finance Director for seven years before meeting Ian Sanderson and forming Sanderson Contracts in 1999.

James’ knowledge of the business is unsurpassed and he is committed to helping Sanderson grow and thrive, whilst maintaining excellent service and solid teamwork.

Chris Small
Chris Small

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Chris joined Sanderson Ltd in as a tradesman joiner in 2004, and worked his way up in those following years to be a Construction Manager. Chris now takes a project from the pre start meeting through to its eventual completion.

His keen eye, and broad, all round knowledge of the construction industry ensures management, safety, value engineering, co-ordination and effective commercial management to deliver all projects to their pre determined programmes. Continued development is important to Chris and he is CIOB.

Daniel Wray
Daniel Wray

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

With almost fifteen years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Construction industry, five of which have been with Sanderson Ltd, Daniel takes great pride in the commercial management of a project whilst maintaining a high level of appreciation and understanding of the day to day management required to ensure a project runs as efficiently as possible.

Daniel is involved heavily within Sanderson’s hotel portfolio where he has taken on a ‘whole package’ approach dealing with a project from its infancy at tender, through to final handover on completion of construction. He is well versed in the Sanderson ethos of providing intelligent value engineered options to various aspects of the build and is always committed to achieving the most effective solutions to our Clients requirements.

David Robinson
David Robinson

DIRECTOR OF HEALTH & SAFETY

David is a graduate of IOSH and a member of the International Institute of Risk Safety Managers. He is a knowledgeable Health and Safety professional consultant over 20 years’ experience, responsible for the health and safety department and company policies and procedures.

David deals with Health and Safety Executive interactions, insurance companies, investigations & solicitors. He is heavily involved in pro-active forward thinking to mitigate risk and also oversees Health and Safety audits and advises on corrective actions. He carries out statistical analysis on management performance and improvements.
