The Harvester’s Time Challenge

By 30th January 2013 Construction

Sanderson completed a £185k shell fit-out of a new 376m2 Harvester restaurant in York on behalf of Mitchells & Butlers.

The project

The interior of the shell structure had to be completely constructed and furnished on a short turnaround of only six weeks. This meant the team had to work quickly and efficiently to complete the job whilst maintaining a high quality finish.

Challenges & unique points

Some of the materials specified were unique and needed to be ordered in from overseas. This included Perspex screens with reeds trapped between the sheets, which had to be fitted with precision to form part of a stylish wooden structure that was used to create different sections of the restaurant.

Whilst the interior had to closely align with the Harvester brand, Sanderson relished the opportunity of working to a tight design brief.

Despite the short turnaround and long lead times for materials, this didn’t faze the team, which worked well together to complete the project to a Sanderson quality standard within five and a half weeks.
