Nando’s: A recap of 2012

By 18th December 2012 Construction

Sanderson has been working on a range of jobs for Nando’s over the past year, especially down in London where the demand for its construction work has been high.

During 2012, Sanderson managed four London-based construction projects along with several others across the country. New Nando’s restaurants were built in key locations including Greenwich, Stamford Street, Southwark and Kensall Rise, all of which were new build construction projects with a combined square footage of 17,500.

Two of the sites, Greenwich and Southwark, were particularly interesting due to historic work and Victorian construction which had to be taken into account and preserved whilst working on the jobs. For example, the Greenwich restaurant was built opposite the Cutty Sark development, which required the team to work closely with the historic works department to ensure necessary processes and procedures were followed. The Southwark site also had its challenges, as an existing railway arch that formed part of the building had to be preserved, requiring a high-level of skill and expertise to complete the job.

There have been some great Nando’s projects this year and we look forward to working with the Nando’s team more in 2013.
